How to Contact Your Child's Coaches

Rostered makes it easy to get in touch with your athlete's coaches directly from the app. You can call, email, or text coaches with just a tap.

Finding Coach Contact Information​

There are several ways to find coach contact details:

From the Athlete Detail Screen​

  1. Open the Rostered app and go to the Family tab.
  2. Tap on your athlete's card to open their detail screen.
  3. Scroll to the Coaches section.
  4. Tap on a coach's name to view their full profile.

From a Team or Division​

  1. Navigate to your athlete's team or division.
  2. Coach information appears on the team/division screen.
  3. Tap on a coach to view their profile and contact details.

Viewing a Coach's Profile​

The coach profile screen shows:

  • Coach photo and name
  • Contact information (email and phone)
  • Coaching assignments (which teams/divisions they coach)
  • Coach bio (if provided)

Contacting a Coach by Email​

By default, tapping an email address copies it to your clipboard rather than opening your email app. You can then paste it into whichever email app you prefer.

  1. On the coach's profile screen, find the Email row in the Contact section.
  2. Tap on the email address to copy it.
  3. Open your email app and paste it into a new message.

If you would rather have a tap open your email app directly (or show a menu with both options), change this in Settings > Contact Actions > Email Tap. See "Setting Your Own Contact Preferences" below.

Calling a Coach​

By default, tapping a phone number copies it to your clipboard rather than starting a call.

  1. On the coach's profile screen, find the Phone row (if the coach has provided a phone number).
  2. Tap on the phone number to copy it.
  3. Open your phone app and paste it in, or change your tap preference to call directly (see below).

Note: Not all coaches provide phone numbers. If you do not see a phone row, try reaching out via email.

Sending a Text Message​

  1. Go to Settings > Contact Actions > Phone Tap and set it to Ask Each Time.
  2. On the coach's profile screen, tap the phone number.
  3. Choose Text from the menu that appears.

Copying Contact Information​

Copying is the default tap behavior for both email and phone, so in most cases a single tap on the Email or Phone row already copies it to your clipboard, ready to paste wherever you need it.

When to Contact Coaches​

Coaches are busy managing teams, so here are some best practices:

  • Schedule questions: Check the app first - most schedule changes are reflected there
  • Attendance changes: Use the RSVP feature instead of messaging
  • Urgent matters: Call if it is time-sensitive and a phone number is available
  • General questions: Email is usually the best option for non-urgent inquiries

Setting Your Own Contact Preferences​

You can control what happens when you (or anyone else in the app) tap an email address or phone number, including your own:

  1. Go to the Settings tab in the app.
  2. Open Contact Actions.
  3. Set Email Tap and Phone Tap independently, each to Copy (the default), Compose Email or Call directly, or Ask Each Time.
