Sending Communications in Multiple Languages
If your club serves families who read different languages, you can turn on multilingual support so each family reads your emails and messages in the language they've chosen.
Push notifications are the exception for now: each one follows the recipient's own account language rather than the language your club writes in, so a family who reads Spanish gets Spanish pushes from every club they follow. We're fixing that.
Turning It On
- Go to Club Settings and open the communications settings
- Turn on Support more than one language
- A list of supported languages appears. Your club's own language is always included and can't be removed. Turn on any additional language your families might read.
Each family picks which of these languages they want to read in from their own app settings (Communication language), so turning on a language here makes it available, not mandatory for anyone.
Composing in Multiple Languages
When you write an email with multilingual support on, you'll see a language pane alongside your English draft. Add a translation for each language you support before sending.
If you edit the English version after adding a translation, that translation is marked stale: you'll see a warning telling you to re-translate before you can send.
Managing Standard App Phrases
Beyond individual emails, your club can also review and adjust the translations of standard phrases the app itself uses (menu items, button labels, and similar), from the Translations page in admin settings. If a translation is auto-generated and one of your admins edits it, you can put the previous wording back if needed.
