How to Manage Email Notification Preferences
Control which email notifications you receive from Rostered. For mobile push notification settings, see How to Manage Push Notifications.
Accessing Notification Settings
- Open the Rostered app.
- Go to the Settings tab (usually found in the bottom navigation or menu).
- Tap on Notification Preferences.
Understanding Notification Types
Rostered sends notifications for different types of events and updates:
- Schedule Changes: When practices, games, or events are added, changed, or cancelled
- Team Messages: Important communications from coaches and club administrators
- RSVP Reminders: Reminders to respond to events that need your attendance confirmation
- Game Results: Score updates and game outcome notifications
Configuring Email Notifications
Email notifications are the primary way Rostered keeps you informed. For each notification type:
- Find the notification type in the list.
- Toggle the switch to enable or disable email notifications.
- When enabled, you will receive emails for that type of notification.
- When disabled, you will not receive emails for that type.
Your changes are saved automatically as you make them.
Push Notifications
Push notifications deliver alerts directly to your phone. For detailed setup and configuration, see How to Manage Push Notifications.
Key alerts include:
- Instant alerts for schedule changes
- Game day reminders
- RSVP deadline reminders
In-App Notifications (Coming Soon)
In-app notifications will appear within the Rostered app itself, showing a notification badge and a notification center where you can review recent updates.
Resetting to Default Settings
If you want to restore all notification preferences to their default values:
- Scroll to the bottom of the Notification Preferences screen.
- Find the Reset All Preferences section.
- Tap the Reset to Defaults button.
- Confirm that you want to reset.
This will enable all notification types with their default settings.
Important Notifications You Cannot Disable
For your security and account management, some notifications will always be sent regardless of your preferences:
- Password reset emails
- Security alerts (like new device logins)
- Account verification emails
- Critical system announcements
These ensure you always have access to your account and are aware of important security events.
Tips for Managing Notifications
- Start with defaults: The default settings are designed to keep you informed of the most important updates.
- Adjust over time: If you find you are getting too many emails, selectively disable the types that are less relevant to you.
- Check spam folder: If you are not receiving expected emails, check your spam or junk folder and mark Rostered emails as "not spam".
- Keep RSVPs enabled: RSVP reminders help ensure you do not miss important deadlines.
Notification Timing
- Schedule change notifications are sent when coaches make updates
- RSVP reminders are sent as deadlines approach
- Team messages are delivered as soon as coaches send them
For time-sensitive notifications, make sure push notifications are enabled.
